Constriction of the arteries due to atherosclerosis diminishes the blood flow into the leg muscles, leading to painful cramping of these muscles.

Atherosclerotic plaques produce isoprostanes, which cause arterial constriction. Preventing the effect of isoprostanes is an important element of our planned therapy to induce targeted vascular relaxation around the plaques.
